Common Interest is pleased to announce that it has been accepted as a member into the Banking with the Poor Network. Common Interest will be the second institution from Thailand accepted into the Network's membership.

The Banking with the Poor Network (BWTP Network) is Asia’s microfinance network that works towards building efficient, large-scale sustainable organisations, through co-operation, training and capacity building with the aim of achieving innovative, appropriate and demand-driven financial services for the poor. The Network is an association of a diverse range of microfinance stakeholders committed to improving the quality of life of the poor through promoting and facilitating their access to sustainable financial services. The BWTP Network is an initiative of the Foundation for Development Cooperation and its Secretariat is based in Singapore.

People in Europe can now support the work of Common Interest through the Braz Foundation. The Braz Foundation is a Netherlands based non-profit organization that works with microfinance institutions in developing countries. Braz is founded by a group of dedicated and passionate young people that aims at eliminating poverty in this world! One very effective way is providing microcredit to entrepreneurs in developing countries. Braz also intends to offer training and education. The Braz team kindly invites you to participate in its dream for a better world, either with donations or ideas!

Currently, two of Common Interest’s Village Banks are highlighted on the Braz website. In a similar system to KIVA, individuals can direct their donations to support specific groups or individuals. Most groups from Common Interest are expected to be listed soon.
